Bolt Action US Part 1

I have been slowly chugging through my US Army after buying far too many bolt action models... I haven’t painted an army for a long time, in the past couple of years I have focused my painting on team sized games, like Blood Bowl and Necromunda.

Wave1:

Assembling the warlord plastics then painting them was a little mind numbing.  I went a scheme from the FoW web colour guide, but I have no idea how historical it is.

To add a bit of spice I used the Sarissa precision 60mm bases, as well as the CompanyB transfers (just for the US Flag) and Army Painter flowers.  I used the Strong tone quickshade for the first time on this army.

Wave2:

Vehicles I pulled together pretty quickly.  I don’t love the heavily weathered look, so I went pretty basic.  The technique is:
Spray with Tamiya TS-5, then a light highlight with TS-28
Drybrush with a light khaki
Add some chips with a dark silver
Quickshade
Matt varnish
Tyres were painted a dark grey then black inked.
All of the vehicles pintle mounted machineguns are removable to give some flexibility.

To give me some more options I have some dodgy conversions with a swappable turret for the greyhound to the more basic A/C as well as magnetized turrets for the Sherman (to add a rather chunky 105mm cannon)

With Crews

Coming up are some Rangers, Artillery, and more bits and pieces.
